Deep Well
Simflo's deep well turbine pumps are built with the highest quality
materials and conform to the standards of AWWA and the Hydraulic
Institute.
DISCHARGE HEAD:
Simflo's standard discharge head is cast of high grade iron, designed
with the strength and rigidity to support the weight of a deep pump
setting. Heads are provided with a discharge flange drilled to match
150lb ANSI connections. The bottom face of the discharge head is fully
machined to allow for a level installation. Simflo's discharge heads are
designed to allow for shaft coupling above the gland assembly, with
clearance for maintenance of the gland. Oil lube gland assemblies are
manufactured with a cast iron housing that allows for proper tension of
the inner column at all times. Oil lubricated glands are provided with a
lubricator with manual operated, sight drip feed and a five quart oil
reservoir.
FOUNDATION PLATE:
The foundation plate shall be constructed of steel and fully machined on
its upper face for level installation of the discharge head. Foundation
plates can be ordered in standard sizes or custom configured to meet any
installation requirements.
COLUMN ASSEMBLY:
The column pipe shall be of high grade steel, connected by threaded
sleeve couplings. Simflo's column pipe conforms to AWWA standards and is
threaded with ANSI standard tapered pipe threads. Intermediate sections
of column shall not exceed 20 feet. Top and bottom sections shall not
exceed 5 feet. The column will be furnished with enclosing tubing sized
to meet the lubrication requirements of the particular installation. The
enclosing tubes are constructed of the highest quality material,
machined to exacting tolerances for a precise fit. Bronze line shaft
bearings are provided to connect the enclosing tubing and support the
line shaft. The line shafting is constructed of shafting meeting pump
shaft quality standards for straightness and surface quality. Line
shafts are designed to transmit the full horsepower load imposed on the
pump. All threads shall be left hand to tighten during pump operation.
The length of the shaft shall be such as to match the length of the
discharge column properly.
BOWL ASSEMBLY:
Pump bowls, suction & discharge cases are cast of high
grade, close grained cast iron, custom cast to Simflo's exacting
specifications, allowing for stringent quality control. The water
passages of pump bowls are vitreous enamel lined for a smooth surface to
provide optimum performance. The discharge cases are designed with vanes
to deliver the flow of water with minimum turbulence. Drain ports are
also provided with a sufficient area and shape to permit the escape of
water that passes through the pump bowl bearings. The enclosing tube of
the column will be connected to the discharge case with a bronze adapter
bearing. Suction cases are fitted with a bronze, grease lubricated
bearing and bronze sand collar to protect the suction bowl bearing from
abrasives. Intermediate bowls are provided with fluted neoprene and/or
bronze bearings. Impellers are cast in high grade bronze and are capable
of fitting with wear rings if needed. All of Simflo's impellers are
accurately cast, machined, statically balanced, and filed for optimum
performance. The impellers are fastened to the bowl shaft with steel
tapered collets. The bowl shaft is constructed of only stainless steel
shafting meeting pump shaft quality standards for straightness and
surface quality. The bowl shaft is designed to transmit the full
horsepower load imposed on the pump.
